Vehicle CCTV/Reversing Cameras
A range of reversing camera systems exist, from a system
that is used like a rear-view mirror to a system that is
on standby that activates when reverse gear is selected
- the most frequently installed system.
Further refinements include digital recording with fleet
users using and recording up to four cameras, with a cameras
recording forwards, backwards, off-side rear facing and near-side
rear facing (to cover blind spots). These cameras typically
give a wider view of vision than wing/door mirrors making
it safer to perform maneuvers. Digital recording systems
provide evidence for helping identify the cause
of an accident.
Waterproof Systems
Waterproof monitor and camera systems are available and
are ideal for forklift trucks, Dump trucks, boats - indeed
any vehicle where the cab is exposed to the elements. The
monitor and camera are weatherproof to IP69 rating.
Wire-free Systems
Heavy duty wire-free systems with cameras attached using
a magnet built into the camera housing to facilitate ease
of attachment. These are especially handy when, for example,
shunting of multiple trailers in distribution yards or where
the operator cannot see the part of the vehicle being operated
such as on a forklift truck where the forks may be out of
the operator's line of sight. Another valuable use of these
wire-free systems is too keep
a
vehicle on the road whilst waiting for its fixed camera system
to be repaired or replaced.
